I am an Associate Teaching Professor of Economics and the Iglehart-Lightcap Faculty Fellow in the School of Business at Wake Forest University (WFU). Additionally, I serve as a Research Affiliate and Faculty Advisor for the Center for the Study of Capitalism at WFU. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from North Carolina State University. Additionally, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and my first Master’s degree in Economics (Applied Track) both from Azad University of Iran, and my second Master’s Degree in Economics (Theoretical Track) from North Carolina State University (NCSU). I worked in the Department of Economics and also in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at NCSU as an Independent Economics Instructor and a Lecturer of Economics. Prior to joining WFU, I taught Economics at many other universities in the U.S., including NCSU (where I taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics for five years) and Elon University. My teaching interests include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Managerial Economics, Business Economics, Applied Economics, Engineering Economy, among others. My research primarily focuses on Microeconomics, Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Applied Econometrics, and the Economics of Risk, Insurance, and Production. To study these economic subjects, I apply a wide variety of quantitative methods, including statistical methods, experimental methods, quasi-experimental methods, and micro-econometric methods. I have published numerous articles in reputable academic journals such as Applied Economics, International Economics and Economic Policy, Managerial and Decision Economics, Social Sciences and Humanities, International Advances in Economic Research, Games, International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, Economic Affairs, Review of Behavioral Finance, and Applied Economics Letters.
